| Stained Glass Windows Dedicated |

Two stunning stained glass windows designed by our own Beth Ann White and created by Kandi Latson of Arbutus Glass were dedicated and unveiled during the 8 :30 service on Sunday, January 22nd.
Kandi, her husband Ernie, and daughter Abby were in worship for the unveiling. Ernie and his parents, Frank and Juanita Latson, were part of our Church family for a number of years. The windows were designed to provide some natural light into the sanctuary following the removal of two large windows to allow room for the expanded Fellowship Hall. Martha Hurd and Kay Garrison did the honors of leading the dedication. The first window is in honor of

the Beam family, who have been such an important part of the history of our Church. It depicts a cross superimposed on an Olympic Peninsula scene of trees, a river, and a mountain, things held dear by the Beam family throughout the years. The family was represented by Marie Louise Beam and son Jim. We appreciate all that the Beam family has done and continues to do for our congregation.
The second window depicts a dandelion in honor of Pastor Ted Mattie’s leadership for over thirty years. The dandelion was selected for this window to remind all of us of the tenacity of the dandelion in spreading its seeds just as we are to be tenacious in spreading the seeds of God’s love. This point was among those made in a series of sermons over the years by Pastor Ted that were compiled in a booklet titled “Looking Out the Window: Lessons from the Yard.” It has become a fun symbol of Ted’s ministry.
Crescent. One of Miriam’s delights was flying a kite pulled behind their boat on the Lake. Following her death in a tragic car accident in 1985, the family donated a window depicting a kite flying over the water in Miriam’s memory. Designed by Miriam and Gordon’s daughter Ellen Bollard, the window has been in the narthex on the east wall of one of the stairways leading to the balcony. With the removal of that stairway, the window is now on the east wall of our new entryway near the elevator, a far more visible location.
