Message from the Pastor

We recently began an ambitious construction project to enlarge our Fellowship Hall and kitchen as well as to make our building more accessible and friendly for those who have mobility issues.  Follow the progress of construction by clicking on "Pastor's Blog" at the top of this page and see the changes taking place.

In the final days of 2011 and as we anticipate 2012, we can begin to see some of the finishing touches being applied to our project.  Our electrical service was updated to accommodate our enlarged kitchen.

Dec._26-30_-_Electrical_WorkThe workers from the City of Port Angeles accomplishing that task are shown in the photo to the right by Carol Foss.  The work required the power to be shut off to the building for most of the day.  The access ramp on the north (alley) side of the building is virtually complete with the railings being created by one of our own members, Doug Erickson, of Lincoln Industrial Corporation, Inc.  That is Doug at the bottom of the ramp in the photo to the right, also taken by Carol Foss.

While the interior areas are still somewhat dark until the installation of lighting, the appliances in our expanded kitchen have been installed (below left).   This is the first time dishes will not have to be washed by hand!  The tile in the new entryway east of the new Fellowship Hall section has been installed (below right), drawing rave reviews on Sunday mornings.  While we are still a few weeks away from completion, we are beginning to see what things will look like as we move into a new era in the life and ministry of the First Presbyterian Church of Port Angeles!
