Message from the Pastor
We recently began an ambitious construction project to enlarge our Fellowship Hall and kitchen as well as to make our building more accessible and friendly for those who have mobility issues. Follow the progress of construction by clicking on "Pastor's Blog" at the top of this page and see the changes taking place.

| Doors to the Future (updated) |
|
Throughout this Church’s nearly 98 years of ministry, the congregation has been blessed with talented people willing to use their skills on behalf of the Church. As we implement a vision for future ministry through our construction project, that tradition has continued...
with George McLean, John Wright, and Martha McLean handcrafting the doors that will separate the southeast side back of the sanctuary (where the windows were removed) from the new portion of the Fellowship Hall. The doors will open up similar to the ones between the sanctuary and the old section of the Fellowship Hall to provide overflow seating for the sanctuary. There will also be a door in that section with a “crash bar” to allow an easier exit during emergencies. George carefully removed the framing and molding around anything that was removed from the old part of the building so that he could use it for the doors. The search for wood that would have a look similar to what we already have in the sanctuary took George all over the Peninsula. John

Wright is doing the staining of the doors, although we are forewarned that they will appear a bit lighter than the existing doors but will darken over time. Be looking for their installation but in the meantime, thank God for talented people who put their faith into action and, while you are at it, thank those working behind the scenes of the project to ensure its success to the glory of God. That includes the Building Committee (Kay Garrison, Martha Hurd, George McLean, Martha McLean, John Wright, and Chuck Whitney), our Construction Liaison Ian Andrews, the Finance Committee (Tom Allen, Tom McCulloch, Michele Haworth, Pat Hyden), Treasurer Maureen Roberts, and Financial Secretary Laurie Fineout.
