DECEMBER'S SUNDAY WORSHIP SCHEDULE

DECEMBER 20TH AT 8:30 & 11:00 A.M.
Pastor Ted’s sermon is scheduled to be “God’s Mysterious Ways” based on Luke 1:39-55. Mary is humbled by being chosen by God yet God continues to choose surprising people like us to do God’s work.

DECEMBER 27TH AT 8:30 & 11:00 A.M.
Pastor Ted will be on vacation. Shirley Cruthers will be preaching. Her sermon is scheduled to be “Making Christmas Last” based on Colossians 3:12-17. If we have not allowed the coming of Christ to make a difference in how we live, it means little.

THE MYSTERY AND THE MAJESTY CHOIR CANTATA

DECEMBER 20TH AT 2:00 PM IN SANCTUARY

Each year as Christmas approaches, we think about the mystery surrounding the miracle of Christ's birth. The majesty of the angels heralding the birth and the awe of the shepherds are heard in our carols as we once again reflect on our Savior's birth. Come join the choir as we celebrate the "beautiful impossible" of Christ's birth. “As we worship together may the chapels of our hearts overflow with the mystery and majesty of Christmas." to quote JMM.

The Outreach & Fellowship will be hosting a reception afterwards.

CHRISTMAS EVE WORSHIP

There are three worship options on Christmas Eve to accommodate a variety of family schedules. There will be identical services at 6:00 and 8:30 p.m. that will feature special music by the Chancel Choir under the direction of Beverly Brown and accompanied by Diane Zimmer.

6:00 & 8:30 p.m. - The Christmas Eve Candlelight Services will include the Chancel Choir, plenty of singing, and the message “Setting the World Right” based on Titus 2:11-14. God’s purpose in sending Christ is accomplished only when we do our parts.

10:30 p.m. - For those who prefer a more meditative service on Christmas Eve, this service will include candle-lighting and the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper. Pastor Ted’s message, “Fulfilling Our Purpose?” based on Titus 2:11-14. Christ came to teach us to live lives of purpose.

Please bring your friends and family to join us on this festive night.

SEEKERS

A NEW SINGLES GROUP

The SEEKERS had some good times together this past month. It was impossible to not laugh and enjoy the Community Players very well done presentation of "The Matchmaker". The beautiful music, witness of faith, and sense of humor of Bronn and Catherine Journey followed by dinner at The Bushwhacker provided us with another grand time. We are now looking toward activities in January. Although the goal of SEEKERS is to provide fellowship and activities for single adults in our church family, anyone who would like to join us is welcome. Contact the church for more info (360-452-4781).

CANDY CANES FOR COLTON
Candy canes for Colton Matter will be available on the refreshment table in the fellowship hall the Sundays before Christmas. If you wish to make a donation, a jar will be available there. Colton Matter is Sandy and Jim Schultz’s 9-year-old grandson who has leukemia and will be getting a bone marrow transplant in January. The good news is that he is leukemia-free right now. The family thanks you ahead of time for any contributions and hopes you can enjoy the candy canes as stocking stuffers, decorations on your trees, or just as a treat for yourself.
